Phyllis Biggs Piel, formerly Phyllis Kultgen, 82, formerly of Columbia, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in Bloomington, Ind.
Services were held on Friday, April 25.
Phyllis received a doctorate in sociology from the University of Missouri. She was director of the Center on Aging and Community at Indiana University until retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; her children, David Kultgen, John Kultgen, Mary Callison, Rebecca Miltenberger and Michael Kultgen; and 14 grandchildren.
