Columbia boy wins archery title Columbia’s Jordan Craig won his division at the National Field Archery Association National Indoor Championships on March 15-16 in Louisville, Ky. Jordan, an 11-year-old who attends New Haven Elementary School, won the Cub Male Freestyle Limited Recurve/Longbow division with a score of 588 out of a possible 600.
Blair Oaks beats North Callaway Andrew Pointer and Justin Koelling combined to pitch a no-hitter as the Blair Oaks baseball team beat North Callaway 7-1 for its 31st straight victory. Pointer struck out seven in 52/3 innings, while Koelling struck out four in 11/3 innings. Pointer, Taylor Castillo and Kyle Henke all had two hits for Blair Oaks (2-0).
Westminster baseball team swept The Maryville baseball team swept a doubleheader from Westminster yesterday in Fulton. The Blue Jays gave up eight runs in the sixth inning and lost the opener 9-4. After letting a 4-1 lead slip away, Phillip Stoll (1-1) was saddled with the loss, allowing eight runs over 51/3 innings. Maryville won the nightcap 11-3. Jesse Jett, Jimmy Gesling and V.J. Reynolds each had two hits for Westminster (7-6, 2-3 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Curt Byrd (1-2) took the loss. Maryville improved to 6-7, 2-0.
SLIAC honors Westminster’s Stanza Westminster’s Parker Stanza has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s tennis player of the week. Stanza went 3-1 in singles and 2-2 in doubles last week.
