Harold Leaton, 1935-2008

Harold E. Leaton, 72, of Fayette passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Boone Hospital Center.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 24, at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial will follow in Mount Nebo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Harold was born March 31, 1935, in Brookfield to Harold A. and Florence Persyn Leaton. He was married on Nov. 4, 1955, to Ruby J. Perry in Versailles.

He worked at Pepsi-Cola in Columbia for 20 years, and he will be remembered as a man who loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Harold is survived by his wife, Ruby, and mother, Florence, both of Fayette; sons Bill Leaton and wife Sandy of Columbia, Eddie Leaton and wife Paige, and Larry Leaton and wife Trish, all of Fayette; daughters Mary Reddick and husband Joe of Fayette, and Diane Boyce and husband Bryan of Sturgeon; 25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters Thelma, Carole and Janetta; and brothers Raymond, Jerry and Ralph.

He was preceded in death by his father; son Glen Leaton; three brothers; and three sisters.
