Thief should return beloved dog no questions asked
Published Thursday, March 20, 2008
Editor, the Tribune: To whomever took my beloved dog: I sincerely hope you realize what a wonderful dog you got when you took my black Lab, Lady, on Friday evening, March 14. She was the love of our family and very dedicated to us, and we know she would never have left on her own. We have walked hundreds of miles in the past few days looking over every inch of land in the area and have not found anything to indicate she is around. She hated being near cars, so we know she did not get run over. The neighbors all knew her, too, and would have told us if they had any knowledge of her whereabouts. I have cried for three nights now, as she slept with me, and there are traces of her on the sheets. My heart is so empty. She was special, as she was a rescue from a home that never appreciated her, just left her in a pen and neglected her. She was the Lady of the house and would have lived out her life here. There was never a more loving, wonderful dog than she was/is, and my grandkids are heartbroken too. If you do have her, please return her to the Midway neighborhood where she came from - no questions asked.
