KRCG-TV programming will not be available to Dish Network subscribers beginning Thursday, the Jefferson City CBS affiliate said today.

The split between the Englewood, Colo.-based satellite television company and KRCG comes after negotiations stalled over a new retransmission agreement. As a result, Dish Network is dropping KRCG programming as of midnight tomorrow. Approximately 40,000 households in the Columbia-Jefferson City viewing area will be affected.

Dish Network provides local stations to customers for a monthly fee, but KRCG said in a written statement that its compensation for granting permission to rebroadcast its signal is not comparable to that of other television networks.

Francie Bauer, a spokeswoman for Dish Network, said negotiations are ongoing and declined to comment on details.
