Hickman lit journal gets national honor

The Hickman Review, the annual publication that showcases some of Hickman High School’s best student literature and artwork, has been honored for excellence for its 2007 edition.

Hickman is one of three schools in Missouri and 20 in the nation to receive a Highest Award from the National Council of Teachers of English annual Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines.

Jefferson City High School and Blue Springs South High School also were honored with the Highest Award.

A total of 439 schools across the country submitted entries. Publications were judged on literary content, design and graphics.
