Schools doing poor job with money and math
Editor, the Tribune: Everyone is talking about the tax issue for the schools. It is obvious the district cannot manage its income versus expenses. The schools are failing. If this were a business, it would go under.

Turning food into fuel will only yield hunger
Editor, the Tribune: The United States is the breadbasket of the world; however, our politicians and industry leaders embarked on projects of converting foods and feeds to products suitable to be used as substitutes for diesel, gasoline and gasoline additives. Keep in mind that the taxpayers subsidize the farmers and the industries that convert food and feeds to energy, yet the taxpayers pay a price in terms of hunger and high energy costs.

Coffee sippers who think it might be a good idea to free Tibet from China are about 58 years too late. China is not going to free Tibet, and Western encouragement of Tibetan resistance will only get people killed needlessly.
