Undercover sting nets 14 drug arrests
Fulton investigation lasted 18 months.
Published Monday, March 19, 2007
A 1½-year undercover drug investigation in Callaway County has led to the indictment of 33 suspects, 14 of whom were arrested last week. The Fulton Police Department and the Mid-Missouri Unified Strike Team and Narcotics Group investigated the case, Fulton police Lt. Rich McKee said. This morning, authorities were still looking for the 19 other suspects. A grand jury indicted the 33 suspects in spring 2006, McKee said. The Fulton Police Department, Callaway County Sheriff’s Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol performed a roundup Friday morning, McKee said. The investigation - initiated by Fulton police and the drug task force - turned up several types of illegal drugs, he said. "We purchased everything from marijuana to prescription pills to powder cocaine to crack cocaine," he said. "We kind of ran the gamut on things that we made purchases on." All of the suspects lived in the Fulton area during the investigation and were indicted on a variety of charges, McKee said. Those arrested were: Robert M. Allison, 39; Daniel P. Dailey, 36; Willa Day, 56; Travis Holtmeyer, 24; Calvin James, 21; Darryl Johnson, 22; Ronnie J. Lee Sr., 42; Darrin McBride, 44; Steven Newman, 41; Damon Sheets, 22; DeCarlo Tucker, 26; Damon Warfield, 38; Anthony Seugin, 38; and Randy Clark, 51. McKee said he was pleased with the investigation. "It was a good size group of defendants we were able to make cases on," he said. "This is probably one of the more successful long-term projects for the department."
