Raw Missouri clay forms Little People, big memories

Missouri has an abundance of clay! Some people cuss it, and others make a living hauling it, building with it or digging it. If it sticks on our best shoes, we hurry to get rid of it, but if it serves a useful purpose, perhaps nothing else can rival clay. On the farm, some farmers use it to impound water; others haul it to fill gullies.

In Greek mythology, the phoenix has long been a symbol of immortality and spiritual rebirth. When each lifecycle came to an end, the fabled bird burned itself on a funeral pyre.
