Man accused of enticing teenager
Published Monday, March 12, 2007
A St. Petersburg man has been arrested after arriving at a Boone County residence to have sex with someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl.
Clayton Mitchell Laramie, 22, was arrested Friday on suspicion of enticement of a child and attempted statutory rape. He was released from the Boone County Jail after he posted a $40,000 bond. Investigators allege that Laramie had online conversations with a Boone County sheriff’s deputy he thought to be the underage girl. During numerous chats with the decoy child for more than three months, Laramie persuaded the decoy child to meet him for the purpose of engaging in sexual intercourse, according to a news release. The Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force made the arrest in conjunction with the sheriff’s department and the Columbia Police Department, the news release said.
