Bruins, Kewps boys set for battle

Nick King photo
Rock Bridge’s Isaiah Warren, left, and Hickman’s Rob Heath, shown waiting to enter a game Jan. 7, will meet again tonight when the two teams play at Rock Bridge gym.

No leaks have been discovered at Rock Bridge gym lately, so tonight’s boys basketball game between Hickman and state-ranked Rock Bridge should go off without a hitch.

The varsity game tips off at approximately 7:30 p.m., following the junior varsity contest.

The Bruins, ranked second in Class 5 with a 15-1 record, have already defeated Hickman (10-8) once this season. The two teams met at Mizzou Arena on Jan. 7 as part of the MFA Oil/Break Time Shootout, with Rock Bridge senior Isaiah Warren scoring a season-high 19 points to lead the Bruins to a 56-46 victory.

Hickman hasn’t played since Friday, when the Kewpies claimed third-place in the Culver’s Shootout in Lee’s Summit. Rock Bridge is coming off a 57-37 win Tuesday at Duchesne.
