Nancy Davis, 1937-2007

Nancy L. Davis, 70, of California, Mo., passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Boone Hospital Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Nashville Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Nashville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia.

Nancy was born on Oct. 5, 1937, in Sapp to William and Hattie Margaret Crane, and they preceded her in death.

On June 25, 1960, she married Joseph L. Davis in Boone County, and he preceded her in death in 1993.

She is survived by her children, Joseph Davis Jr. and wife June of Clark, Denise "Sis" Ellison and husband Gordon of Columbia, Anita Cline and husband Duane of Madison, Mark Davis and wife Trena of Williamsburg, and Debra Schmidt and husband Troy of Russellville; grandchildren, Tere’sa Davis, Andrea Davis, Tre’ Davis, Kallen Davis, Jennifer Ellison, Amanda Ellison, Gordon Ellison III, Haley Cline and Jillian Schmidt; stepgrandchildren Jason Cline, Jaimie Hicks, Kevin Bealmear, Ashley Bealmear, Amber Bealmear, Amanda Glover, Andrea Glover and Bobby Joe Bealmear; great-grandchildren Addye Davis and Arianna Ellison; stepgreat-grandchildren Jesse Hicks, Jayden Hicks, Zachary Bealmear and Derick Bealmear; nieces, Alicia Henderson and Alison Christopher; nephew Wesley Long; adopted sister Shirley Nichols; and sisters-in-law Elizabeth Clutts and Sue Cleavenger.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Martha Long.
