Stabbing leaves man injured, another jailed

A 29-year-old Columbia man was stabbed last night in central Columbia, and police arrested a 27-year-old man identified as the assailant.
Columbia police officers were dispatched at 9:56 p.m. after receiving reports of a disturbance in the front yard of 802 Wilkes Blvd. and found the victim with a stab wound in his side. The victim, who was not identified, was treated at University Hospital and released. Columbia Police later arrested Charles McCoy of the residence in connection with the stabbing and charged him with second-degree assault and armed criminal action. He was being held at the Boone County Jail on $4,500 bond on the assault charge. Bond had not been set on the armed criminal action charge.
