Published Wednesday, December 26, 2007
Two people were injured Monday after a teenage driver lost control of a pickup on a slick roadway northeast of Columbia. Dustin W. Cranmer, 15, of Thompson was driving a 1996 Dodge Ram pickup eastbound on Route HH west of Wheeler Lane at 3:45 p.m. Monday when he lost control on the slick roadway and traveled off the right side of the road, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said. The pickup then struck a tree and fence, the patrol said. The driver and a passenger, Roger L. Cranmer, 44, of Thompson, were injured and taken by private vehicle to Boone Hospital Center. Dustin Cranmer suffered minor injuries and Roger Cranmer suffered moderate injuries, the highway patrol said. Neither was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
