J.E. Gipson, 1923-2007

Jesse Edgar "J.E." Gipson, 84, of Columbia and formerly of Mexico, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Lenoir Woods in Columbia.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday.

He was born Sept. 9, 1923.

Mr. Gipson is survived by his wife, Vivian, of Mexico; children, Martha Jane Adkisson of Centralia, Marjorie Ann DeVault of Mexico, Michael Lee Gipson of Denham Spring, La., Helen Joan Black of Columbia and Jerry Gipson of Lee’s Summit; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; one brother; and one sister.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Community Hospice or the Heart Association.
