Bill Olive, 1941-2007

Bill "Guru" Olive, 66, of Jefferson City died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Capital Region Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick G. Dolan officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. The family invites everyone to a Celebration of Life after the committal service at the Truman Hotel. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. He was born on March 20, 1941, in St. Louis, the son of William "Buck" Henry and Ada Lee Hunt Olive. He was married on April 27, 1963, in Jefferson City to Mary Ellen Cassmeyer, who survives at the home. Mr. Olive was a 1963 graduate of Rockhurst University with a bachelor’s of science degree in biology. Bill was the owner and operator of Kegler Pro Shop in Jefferson City. He also worked as a nuclear medicine tech for Memorial, Still, St. Mary’s, Ellis Fischel, and the University Medical Center. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, United States Bowling Congress, Professional Bowlers Association, and the Bowling Hall of Fame in Columbia, Jefferson City, and the state of Missouri. Other survivors include a daughter, Kay M. Gentges of Louisberg, Kan.; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Keith R. Olive, Michael G. and Vickie Olive, all of Jefferson City and Timothy J. Olive of Fort Campbell, Ky.; and three grandchildren, Ryan W. Gentges, Alex Gentges and Clara Gentges. He was preceded in death by his parents.
