Dorothy Osbourn, 1929-2007

Dorothy Maddox Osbourn, 78, of Lenexa, Kan., formerly of Fulton, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Lakeview Village.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, with the Rev. Gary Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born March 30, 1929, in Reform, the daughter of the late Dewey and Ruth Garrett Maddox.

On Oct. 23, 1954, she married Dr. Richard Alton Osbourn in Fulton. He preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 2000.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Wiedenmeyer and husband Todd of Olathe, Kan., and Lisa Blair and husband Todd of Leawood, Kan.; one sister, Helen Snook and husband Eddie; and two grandchildren, Davis Alton Blair and Blake Osbourn Wiedenmeyer.

Dorothy lived most of her life in the Fulton area. She attended Fulton High School and William Woods College. She was a member of Alpha Phi sorority, the Callaway Community Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, and an active member of Court Street United Methodist Church. In the early 90s, she opened her own business, The Bunny Patch in downtown Fulton.

Dorothy will be remembered by her family for her generous and loving spirit. Her greatest passion in life was her love of animals.
