The Missouri Tigers hold their first December practice this morning in preparation for the Jan. 1 Cotton Bowl, their fourth bowl game in five years and first New Year’s Day bowl in nearly four decades. Here’s four storylines to follow in the next two weeks as MU’s season winds down in Dallas.

The Oak Park wrestling program has won five straight state championships, and, judging by a stunning result during last night’s Tournament of Champions at Rock Bridge, the Northmen appear on track to keep that streak alive.

Stein wants Scott to be more selfish

Marissa Scott has the tools. She’s instinctive and possesses great basketball sense. Scott passes well, can handle the ball and can play inside or outside. She works hard and is good defensive player - one of the Missouri women’s basketball team’s best post defenders. She’s always a positive influence and good with her teammates.

Boone scores 32 in victory

Midway through the first quarter of last night’s game, Douglass senior Landon Boone caught the ball alone in the right corner. He lowered the ball to his midsection and began his shooting motion from there. His form was off, and so was his 3-point attempt.

Hickman girls fall to Kansas power

A rough start to the first and second halves doomed the Hickman girls basketball team in a 52-46 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas last night at Avila University in Kansas City.
