Woman reports being robbed at knifepoint

Police are investigating a robbery yesterday morning in north Columbia. A 24-year-old woman told police she was walking at about 9:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Towne Drive when a man approached her, displayed a knife and demanded her purse. The man fled on foot with the purse, police said. The man is described as black, in his late teens or early 20s, cleanshaven and last seen wearing a red baseball cap, white shirt and black shorts. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 875-8477.
