PREDICTIONS
Published Saturday, November 4, 2006
It’s hard to predict a Tigers’ victory in a November road game like this until they actually win a November road game like this - one with a tangible pot of gold waiting for them at the end. Unless the Cornhuskers try to outthink themselves, they’ll run the ball between the tackles all day, with a helpless Chase Daniel watching from the sideline. - Dave Matter Columbia Daily Tribune Nebraska 35, Missouri 28
Two teams coming off disappointing losses have so much to play for. Missouri will throw the football and take advantage of favorable matchups against Nebraska’s banged-up linebacker corps. The Huskers figure to run the ball when and how they want. Who gets the edge? The team with the fewest blunders. That doesn’t necessarily favor Missouri, which hasn’t won in Lincoln since 1978. - Brian Rosenthal Lincoln Journal-Star Nebraska 24, Missouri 21
After the way both teams played last week, the one that screws up least should win. Even though Nebraska has hardly been a model of consistency, the Huskers have functioned well at home. Plus, Missouri can’t seem to produce that breakthrough win on the road. - Lee Barfnecht Omaha World-Herald
