Motorist, passenger in critical condition
Published Saturday, May 13, 2006
A Columbia passenger in a late-night accident Thursday was discharged from the hospital yesterday, while the vehicle’s driver and another passenger remained in critical condition. James Danchus, 25, of 2900 Old 63 S. was discharged from University Hospital after being injured in a wreck just before midnight on Grindstone Parkway near Rock Quarry Road. Police said Adam Droesch, 21, of St. Louis lost control of an eastbound Buick LeSabre that went off the right side of the road and overturned several times. Droesch remained yesterday in critical condition at University Hospital. Police said a front-seat passenger not identified by officers pending notification of that person’s family also was in critical condition. James Baker, 22, of Popular Bluff was taken to the same hospital for treatment, police said, but was not in the hospital last night.
