Motorist, 30, injured in one-car accident
Published Thursday, June 8, 2006
Firefighters from the Boone County Fire Protection District pulled a driver out of a car that wrecked car early today on the 500 block of Brown School Road. The motorist, Seth Reynolds, 30, of Columbia suffered moderate injuries and was taken to University Hospital, where he was in fair condition at about noon. At about 1 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a one-vehicle wreck. They found that the Nissan Maxima had left the road and rolled over, trapping the driver inside. Fire district officials said the car was westbound and left the pavement, rolled over several times and landed on its wheels on the north side of the road. Firefighters removed the driver’s side and rear passenger doors to extricate the driver. "This gentleman was very lucky to survive a crash of this nature," Division Chief Gale Blomenkamp said in a press release. "There was major damage to the vehicle, and the roof of the car was nearly flat from the rollover." The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
