Wal-Mart CEO leaves two committees

NEW YORK (AP) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world’s biggest retailer, said yesterday its chief executive, David Glass, stepped down from the board’s executive and stock option committees last week.

Wal-Mart said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that Glass, 70, who will remain a board member, will be replaced on the executive committee by independent board member Christopher Williams. Glass will not be replaced on the stock option committee.

Glass will remain on the board of directors.
