Drug search results in Demaret arrests

Three Columbia residents were arrested Thursday night after Boone County sheriff’s deputies searched a Demaret Drive apartment for evidence of a crack cocaine distribution organization.

Officers went to Apartment 4 at 700 E. Demaret Drive at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, and one of the residents fled to a neighboring apartment. Deputies arrested that man, Brandon M. Redden, 23, as well as Joyce Christine Parker, 45, of 700 E. Demaret Drive and Gary D. Gibson, 21, of 461 N. Broadview Court.

Deputies captured Redden in Parker’s apartment and arrested Parker after she allegedly tried to conceal Redden.

Redden was being held on suspicion of second-degree trafficking and felony resisting arrest. Parker was arrested on suspicion of felony hindering prosecution, and Gibson was booked on suspicion of violating probation or parole as well as suspicion of recklessly burning, third-degree assault, first-degree property damage and child endangerment.

Redden and Gibson remained last night in the Boone County Jail with bonds set at $150,000 and $15,000 bonds, respectively, while Parker was released after posting a $4,500 bond.
