It’s been two weeks since the private conversation between a basketball coach and a broadcaster mushroomed into a miniature civil war at the University of Missouri. They have been the two worst weeks of Athletic Director Mike Alden’s eight-year tenure at MU.

Big 12 meet makes splash

Fans crowded the stands last night at the Mizzou Aquatics Center, some donning orange Longhorn T-shirts and others holding signs spelling out "Aggies." Missouri fans were in attendance too, most wearing bright gold T-shirts to support the hometown team.

MU diver reaches new heights in big meets

It’s 5:15 p.m. at the Mizzou Aquatics Center, and the Missouri diving team is just finishing its practice. Senior Evan Watters lifts off the board and dives into the chilly water. The splash is prolific as Watters’ body slightly over-rotates. A tangle of limbs destroys the placid water.

Fulton plays patient game to perfection against Kirksville

MOBERLY - Clinging to a three-point lead after three quarters of last night’s Class 4 District 9 semifinal with top-seeded and ninth-ranked Kirksville, the fourth-seeded Fulton boys basketball team made only 1 of 2 field goals over the final eight minutes … and won by 11.
